How this site makes money
In short: affiliate commission, paid by the retailer, at no extra cost to you. The longer version is below, because the short version is not enough.
The one-line version
Most outbound product links on Haze Homes are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the retailer pays me a percentage of the sale. You pay exactly what you would have paid anyway, the commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not out of your basket.
How to spot one
Every affiliate link on this site is marked rel="sponsored" in the page’s HTML and opens in a new tab. Every product is shown with its price, its currency and the name of the retailer it goes to, before you click. Pages that contain affiliate links carry a disclosure at the top of the page, above the article, not buried in the footer.
I do not shorten, cloak or redirect affiliate links. The link you see is the link the network gave me, pointing at the retailer’s own domain. If a link on this site ever goes through a redirect service or a shortener, something has gone wrong and I would like to know about it.
What commission does not buy
- A place on a list. Commission rates vary between retailers, and I do not order or select pieces by what pays best.
- A good review. I do not publish reviews of products I have not used, and I say plainly where a page is built from catalogue data rather than first-hand experience.
- Editorial control. No retailer sees a page before it is published. I have not accepted payment for placement, and if that ever changes the page will say so at the top, in the same place as this disclosure.
The aspirational originals
On my price comparison pages, the expensive original is deliberately not an affiliate link. I have no relationship with those brands and earn nothing if you buy one. That is the point of the comparison, if the original paid me more, the page would not be worth reading.
Prices, stock and staleness
Prices come from each retailer’s affiliate product feed and are correct as of the last import. They can change between imports, and they occasionally change between you clicking and the page loading. The price at the checkout is the real one. If you spot a price on this site that is badly out of date, tell me at hello@hazehomes.com and I will re-import.
Prices are shown in the currency the retailer charges in. I do not convert, a converted figure goes stale and will not match the checkout page. The retailers I link to are European, so every price on the site is in euros, and each product says where it ships.
Why this page exists
Because both the US Federal Trade Commission’s Endorsement Guides and the UK CAP Code require that a commercial relationship be disclosed clearly, prominently and before the reader engages with the content, not in small print, and not only in the footer. This page is the full version; the line at the top of every article is the prominent one.
